Fabulous Front Doors :: Screen Doors

Not always necessary,
depending on the climate,
but a screened door can be a chance
to add a little enchantment
to a front entrance.
This is a very ornate version,
from a 1930s house in Toorak,
where the cast iron scrolls remind me of butterfly wings.
Simpler, but just as beautiful,
this sultry blue number at a holiday property
frames the bottom half for support
but leaves the top half clear for visibility.
And, I rather love to imagine,
if I close my eyes a little,
I can just hear that fabulous "s q u e a k" sound
of this screen door opening.
It's the sound of sunny days!
