The perfect pink rose: meet kathleen harrop...

If ever there were a perfect pink rose,
this little lady has to be it. And a bit.
One cut flower can scent a whole room. I kid you not.
No thorns. Lusciously dark green leaves.
Please meet lady Kathleen Harrop.

This little climbing rose was introduced in 1919,
as one of the last of the Bourbon varieties,
when it was fashionable to wear a buttonhole
of a sweetly scented rosebud.
As I was dashing out of the front door this morning,
this bloom caught my eye and my heart.
So she is now sitting in a vase on my desk,
and the scent is intoxicating!
